Teen Program
Empowering Young People to Succeed
To help young people meet the workforce challenges of tomorrow, they need safe spaces, positive mentorship and work experiences today.
At Boys & Girls Clubs, we allow kids and teens to:
-
Explore their interests and passions
-
Develop their employability skills
-
Apply their knowledge to real-world work experiences

Life and Workforce Readiness Initiative
Our Life and Workforce Readiness Initiative empowers young people with the skills, experiences, and confidence to succeed in careers and life.

Career Launch Program
Career Launch is a 10-week program where students explore careers, gain hands-on experience, and build job-readiness skills like resume writing, interview prep, and professional dress. With mentorship and workshops, they grow confident and workforce-ready empowered to launch their careers. Eligible students (15½+) may interview for internships that are associated with our 5 Week paid internship program

Summer Jobs Program
5-week paid internship is connected to our Career Launch program and offers students real-world work experience while building essential life and career skills. Interns work with local partners, earn AED/CPR and Food Handlers certifications, and gain valuable credentials and confidence to thrive in the workplace.

The Club
The Club is a safe place where you can come to hang out, have fun and spend time with friends. Plus, our Armstrong Youth Center, Stockdale Club and Lamont Club have a dedicated Teen Center serving teens only, as well as special teen outings.
The Club is open every day after school, on most holidays, and throughout the summer. So, just call or stop by one of our locations to become a member. We’ll be happy to give you a tour and assist you in completing a membership form.

Money Matters
Developed by Charles Schwab & Co., Money Matters helps teens gain financial literacy skills. The program allows teens to explore fun ways of learning the difference between financial needs and wants, how to create a personal budget, and wise use of credit, savings and investment.

Keystone Club
Keystone is a national program that encourages teens ages 14 to 18 to become leaders in their communities through civic engagement and service learning. Keystone Clubs participate in a national service project and are required to raise $3,000 annually in order to qualify for participation in the Regional and National Keystone Conferences.

“The Air We Breathe” – A Powerful Teen Advocacy Film
“The Air We Breathe” is a locally produced short film that serves as a testament to the Lamont Boys & Girls Club teen program’s advocacy efforts and engagement with community members, policymakers, and agencies to improve the air quality in their community. The project was supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, and Kern Dance Alliance, a nonprofit corporation. Learn more at kdacreativecorps.org.
