Teen Program

Our Teen Program at BGCKC is designed to empower young people to grow into confident, capable leaders. Through a mix of academic support, career exploration, life skills, and engaging activities, teens gain the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond. The program provides a safe, supportive space where members can build meaningful relationships, discover their passions, and prepare for their future.

The Club

The Club is a safe place where you can come to hang out, have fun and spend time with friends. Plus, our Armstrong Youth Center, Stockdale Club and Lamont Club have a dedicated Teen Center serving teens only, as well as special teen outings.

The Club is open every day after school, on most holidays, and throughout the summer. So, just call or stop by one of our locations to become a member. We’ll be happy to give you a tour and assist you in completing a membership form.

Money Matters

Developed by Charles Schwab & Co., Money Matters helps teens gain financial literacy skills. The program allows teens to explore fun ways of learning the difference between financial needs and wants, how to create a personal budget, and wise use of credit, savings and investment.

Keystone Club

Keystone is a national program that encourages teens ages 14 to 18 to become leaders in their communities through civic engagement and service learning. Keystone Clubs participate in a national service project and are required to raise $3,000 annually in order to qualify for participation in the Regional and National Keystone Conferences.

"The Air We Breath"

“The Air We Breathe” is a locally produced short film that serves as a testament to the Lamont Boys & Girls Club teen program’s advocacy efforts and engagement with community members, policymakers, and agencies to improve the air quality in their community.  The project was supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, and Kern Dance Alliance, a nonprofit corporation. Summer Jobs Program Virtual Orientation 2025

The Summer Jobs Program Virtual Orientation 2025 provides participants with a clear introduction to the program’s expectations, opportunities, and resources. During the session, youth learn about workplace readiness, professional behavior, communication skills, and program guidelines. The orientation also outlines job placement processes, schedules, and available support to help ensure a successful and rewarding summer work experience. Plus translation.

UPS Road Code

UPS Road Code at Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County (BGCKC) teaches teens essential driving knowledge and safety skills to prepare them for the road. Through interactive lessons and real-world scenarios, members learn defensive driving, traffic laws, and responsible decision-making, helping them build confidence and become safer, more aware drivers.
