    Artfest 2026

Art is especially beneficial for children. It encourages creativity, and helps children develop a sense of their own individuality, a sense of self-respect, and an appreciation of others' work. That's why the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County is so proud of our children's art program, and is pleased to announce the return of Artfest, our original signature fundraising event showcasing artwork by the children of the Boys & Girls Club.

Support of the Boys & Girls Club will help fund the many programs that give children the opportunity to enjoy experiences they might not otherwise have—experiences that will shape them for the rest of their lives.

    Summer Internship

Teens who complete "Career Launch" can apply for a paid part-time internship with a local business. Interns work Monday through Thursday for five weeks, following a one-week youth employee onboarding. On Fridays, they participate in professional development sessions covering financial literacy, professional and dining etiquette, plus First Aid/CPR/AED training, and food handling certifications.

    Musical Performances

The curtain is drawn and the stage lights come on to reveal a cast of children posed against an ornate background.  This is the moment that all of the hard work and commitment pays off…our children are on stage and about to perform!  As part of our performing arts experience, our children are mentored by a professional director and choreographer; and glamorized by a costumer. Supported by a sound engineer, stage crew and many other professionals working together so that when the curtain is up, our children are given a real theater experience and professional production.
